…we reflect on 2020, a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic brought immense change to the lives and livelihoods of everyone in our constituency, the effects of which are still being acutely felt as Ireland enters a third lockdown. Believe it or not, 2020 was also the year in which the people of Dublin South-Central elected their first ever Green Party TD as our grassroots campaign and a groundswell of support from local voters carried Patrick Costello across the line.
Looking ahead to 2021 we wish everyone who lives, works, studies or plays in DSC a peaceful and prosperous New Year. We look forward to an eventual return to relative normality, but we also recognise that we have a role to play in shaping our shared future if we are to tackle persisting challenges of social injustice and environmental degradation. Let’s embrace 2021 as it brings with it a sense of renewed hope, optimism and the opportunity to deliver sustainable growth and prosperity for all.
